De GTI 8V heeft een sprankelende 1.8 viercilinder met 112pk en 155Nm koppel. Dankzij het lage gewicht voelt de Golf nog steeds erg vlot aan. Vanwege zijn gewichtsverdeling heeft hij in bochten de neiging om een beetje onderstuur te vertonen voordat de voorkant grip krijgt en de achterkant naar buiten stapt. Deze eigenschap maakt het opwindend en toch heel gemakkelijk en voorspelbaar om te rijden. Het leukste is dat je niet de snelheid hoeft te overtreden om rijplezier uit de Golf te halen. The GTI 8V has a sparkling 1.8 four-cylinder with 112hp and 155Nm of torque. Thanks to its low weight, the Golf still feels quick. Due to its weight distribution, it tends to exhibit a bit of understeer in corners before the front grips and the rear steps out. This makes it exciting yet very easy and predictable to drive. The best part is that you don't have to exceed the speed limit to get driving pleasure from the Golf.
