The Maserati family was born at the Italian seaside and the trident is often seen as a sign of  power and domination. In Greek Mythology, Zeus dominates the sea and always carries around the trident. By adding the right colors, the Maserati logo was designed to show domination on the land. This Italian trident was first seen on the Tipo 26 in 1926 and the rest is history.
