De heilige graal van de Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaf: Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II met slechts 28.000 originele kilometers op de teller. Direct van de eerste eigenaar, de Italiaanse ex F1 coureur Cesare Perdisa en zijn familie. Een geweldige coureur die nog competitie heeft gereden tegen Stirling Moss.

Van binnen en buiten in absolute A1 conditie. Compleet eerste lak, met volle boordmap en alle documentatie. Subliem exemplaar dat uiteraard altijd binnen gestald heeft gestaan. De bodem zit nog vol fabriekswax en zelfs de originele papieren motorsticker zit nog op het blok (zie foto). Alle sierlijsten rond de ramen hebben nog de originele gouden gloed; iets wat normaal snel verweerd. Het leer is nog opvallend mat, de achterbank ongebruikt en ook de geur is nog als in de showroom van 1990. 

Eind jaren ‘80 werd de strijd uitgevochten tussen de BMW M3 E30 en de Mercedes-Benz 190E. Mercedes vergrootte de door Cosworth ontwikkelde motor met 0,2 liter, nu met 204pk. Later kwam de Evolution, met een bredere bodykit en instelbaar onderstel. In 1990 kwam Mercedes met de Evolution II. Nu met 235pk, 17” velgen, uitgebouwde wielkasten en een opvallend grote spoiler. Mede dankzij deze enorme spoiler won de legende maar liefst 16 van de 24 DTM races in 1992. Zo werd de Evo II een van de meest iconische homologatiespecials ooit. 

Met slechts 502 stuks ooit gebouwd is de Evo II een ware verzamelaarsauto. Dit exemplaar is een van de laatste: nummer 489/502 en dus een van de veertien laatst geproduceerde. Er werd gekozen voor vollederen bekleding en airconditioning. Wat dit exemplaar extra bijzonder maakt is de optie om ‘m fabriek-af zonder schuifdak te leveren. Waar dit op een Evo II behoorde tot de standaarduitrusting zijn er maar erg weinig exemplaren van te vinden. Geen extra gewicht, en al helemaal niet in het dak van de auto. Less is more, zeker op een de straatversie van een DTM-auto. Ultieme collectable met een prachtige historie, die we graag in volle glorie aan u laten zien in onze showroom te Boxtel!

In absolute A1 condition inside and out. Complete first paint, with full board folder and all documentation. Sublime 190E that always been stored indoors. The underside is still full of factory wax and even the original paper engine sticker is still on the engine (see photo). All moldings around the windows still have the original golden glow; something that normally weathers quickly. The leather is still very matte, the back seat is unused and the smell is still as it was in the 1990 showroom.

In the late 1980s, the battle was fought between the BMW M3 E30 and the Mercedes-Benz 190E. Mercedes increased the engine they developed with Cosworth by 0.2 liters, now with 204 hp. Later came the Evolution, with a wider body kit and adjustable chassis. In 1990 Mercedes introduced the Evolution II. Now with 235 hp, 17" rims, extended wheel arches and a strikingly large spoiler. Partly thanks to this enormous spoiler, the legend won no less than 16 of the 24 DTM races in 1992. This is how the Evo II became one of the most iconic homologation specials ever.

With only 502 units ever built, the Evo II is a true collector's car. This copy is one of the last: number 489/502 and therefore one of the last fourteen produced. Equipped with full leather upholstery and air conditioning. What makes this car extra special is the option to deliver it from the factory without a sunroof. While this was part of the standard equipment on an Evo II, very few examples are available. No extra weight, and certainly not in the roof of the car.
